A senior engineer in your corner, without the salary

Ongoing Technical Advisory

Most small businesses can't justify a full-time senior engineer, but the decisions still come: which platform, which developer, is this quote fair, is this launch safe. Advisory means those calls get made with someone experienced sitting on your side of the table.

Good fit

Who this is for

  • You work with developers or agencies and want someone technical representing your interests
  • Your software matters enough that surprises are expensive
  • You're planning a launch, a migration, or a big build and want steady guidance through it

In practice

Common ways the work shows up

Architecture and code review

Significant features and technical decisions reviewed before they're locked in, so problems get caught on paper instead of in production.

Security and dependency monitoring

A standing weekly review of vulnerabilities, updates, and advisories affecting your stack, with a short list of what actually needs doing.

Launch and migration support

Load testing, readiness reviews, rollback plans, and on-call support when the stakes are highest.

What changes

  • Technical decisions made with senior judgment, not guesswork
  • Security risks surfaced weekly instead of discovered the hard way
  • A direct line by phone, text, or email when something needs an answer
  • Launches that go out with a plan, not hope

Northwest Arkansas and beyond

Local access, production-scale discipline

Carle Systems is based in Bentonville and works directly with businesses in Bentonville, Rogers, Fayetteville, and across Northwest Arkansas. Remote engagements are available when the workflow and operating team do not depend on location.

Every engagement is handled directly by Hunter Carle. There is no account-manager handoff between the person defining the constraint and the person responsible for the implementation.

Questions before starting

Is this the same as hiring a part-time developer?

No. Advisory is judgment first: reviews, guidance, and monitoring, with a set allowance of hands-on hours included. If a month calls for more building than advising, that's scoped as its own project.

We already have a developer. Why add this?

Your developer works for the project. Advisory works for you: an independent read on quality, cost, and risk from someone whose only job is your interests.

What does a typical month look like?

A standing weekly security and dependency review, feature and code review as work ships, and phone, text, and email support as questions come up. Some months are quiet. The point is that the coverage is there.
